East Toronto Health Partners Ontario Health Team (ETHP OHT) hosted its winter 2025 planning session on January 31 to recognize its achievements and advance priorities related to strategic and governance planning.

Nearly 100 attendees – including staff from our 100-plus partner organizations; patient, family, and community advisors, as well as community health ambassadors – gathered for the biannual session at Leaside Memorial Gardens Community Centre.

The event aimed to:

  • Provide a space where attendees can connect and recognize shared achievements over the past six months, including ETHP OHT’s five-year anniversary;
  • Engage partners and community members in continuing with ETHP OHT’s strategic plan development, including assessing neighbourhood-level data and population health priorities; and
  • Offer updates, including feedback and recommendations, from our ETHP OHT Governance Planning Committee on evolving our Leadership Council.

Abdul Rashid Athar, Khadija Nakhuda and Vicky Beach made remarks on behalf of ETHP OHT’s patient, caregiver and community advisors.

Representatives from the City of Toronto also joined to share insights about the city-planning process and how it supports population growth through local services. This helps ETHP OHT better understand how it can collaborate with and support the city’s work.

A huge thank you to our speakers and attendees who contributed to the planning session and our partners who continue to support our work in building a healthier and more equitable East Toronto – enabling every person and neighbourhood to thrive.
