About Our Community Advisory Council

East Toronto Health Partners’ (ETHP) Community Advisory Council is a group of volunteers who meet once a month to co-design ETHP initiatives and share their experiences as people who find and get care in East Toronto. Working closely with our partner organizations and leaders, they provide feedback on different health-related programs and services to help improve care for people in the community. How You’ll Help

As a member of our Community Advisory Council, you bring expertise about what it is like to find and get health, social and community services in East Toronto as a patient and/or an unpaid caregiver.

You will have an opportunity to provide direct input to ETHP policies and initiatives. Sharing your own or your community’s experiences helps inform the discussion and decision-making around the development and delivery of health and social services. This helps improve local access to care.

As a member of our Community Advisory Council, you may also be invited to join different ETHP committees, working groups or focus groups. In these groups, you will help provide context and share experiences that the data can’t tell us.

You will advise these groups on how to plan and improve local health and social services through the lens of a patient and/or unpaid caregiver. Your involvement will guide the committee, working group or focus group to consider the steps in a patient’s journey and better understand the complex choices that patients and unpaid caregivers must make.
