The John Howard Society of Toronto aims to make Toronto safer through programs that focus on crime prevention, intervention and reintegration. Street Haven is a women’s organization that provides a variety of services at multiple sites across Toronto. Our services are inclusive, trauma-informed and delivered through a gender-based practice. They include emergency shelters, support housing, in-resident addiction treatment, training and pre-employment supports.
Red Door Family Shelter provides emergency shelter and support for women and children affected by domestic abuse, families experiencing a housing crisis, and refugee claimants with nowhere else to turn. Since 1982, we have grown to be one of the largest family shelters in Toronto, providing shelter and support to over 350 families annually.
