‘Very thoughtful’: Notes, art, food raise Scarborough seniors’ spirits

Before Meals on Wheels bags are carried out of the Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities, Lori Beesley staples paper notes to them.

These Notes of Hope are just short messages of inspiration, or sometimes a poem, meant to cheer the seniors when they get their food delivery.

Across Scarborough, people are doing similar things — sending letters, children’s drawings, or bags of groceries to elders in hopes those seniors will stay safely at home or otherwise get through this dangerous, lonely time.
