Staff from our partner organizations, and patient and caregiver advisors and community health ambassadors, at the Thorncliffe Park Community Hub.
East Toronto Health Partners (ETHP), the Ontario Health Team (OHT) serving East Toronto, hosted its first in-person planning session since February 2020 at the Thorncliffe Park Community Hub on November 7.
More than 130 people attended the event, including staff from our 100-plus partner organizations and patient and caregiver advisors and community health ambassadors.
We were also joined by representatives from Ontario Health and the Ontario Ministry of Health.
During the session, our partners:
- Shared updates on our OHT, including action items that emerged from feedback received during our virtual planning session in June 2021;
- Celebrated our milestones and achievements since this past summer, including the launch of Health Access Taylor-Massey and Razia Rashed’s and Mohammad Shabani’s recent recognition by the University of Toronto’s Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME); and
- Gathered feedback from partners that will help inform our refreshed vision and priorities moving forward.
We worked closely with our partners in Thorncliffe Park, including TNO – The Neighbourhood Organization, to help ensure the event was organized for the community by the community.
This included having community health ambassadors and local residents greet guests and share remarks. We also served refreshments from local businesses.
Thank you to our partners for attending the session and sharing insights on how we can continue to improve and integrate care for our East Toronto community!
And to our partners in Thorncliffe Park, thank you for welcoming our OHT into the neighbourhood with open arms.
We look forward to co-designing the future of care and sharing more from our planning session soon!
