WoodGreen is a social services agency serving 37,000 people each year. Together, we help people find safe, affordable housing; seniors live independently; internationally trained professionals enter the job market; parents access child care; children access after-school programs; newcomers settle into Canadian life; and youth find meaningful employment and mental health supports.
Good Shepherd Ministries operates a meal program, clothing room, medical clinic and 97 shelter beds for homeless men. We offer support for homeless men seeking abstinence-based treatment, help with finding housing and services for veterans. We also operate two supportive residences, one for seniors with a history of homelessness and one for people living with AIDS.
Operated by Revera Living, Main Street Terrace is a long-term care home where experienced staff put residents’ health first with recreational activities, personalized care, physiotherapy services and recreation programs. This creates a community environment and helps maintain our residents’ quality of life.
Seniors Services and Long-Term Care is responsible for service planning and strategic integration of City services for seniors. Services provided include community support programs such as adult day programs, supportive housing services, tenancy supports and homemakers and nurses services for vulnerable individuals who reside in the community and 10 directly operated long-term care homes.
Chester Village is a state-of-the-art long-term care home located in an established community at Danforth and Warden Avenues. It features a Village Shoppe and cafe, a beauty and barber shop, a place of worship, a family celebration room, spacious private and shared accommodation rooms and a beautiful tranquil garden.
Our Houses of Providence is home to 288 people of different backgrounds and life experiences. We strive to create an environment that meets the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our residents in a dignified and safe community. Our care is centred on residents in a way that recognizes and respects their privacy and independence.
