Hospital, primary care and community care partners across ETHP have collaborated to ensure low-barrier access to testing, vaccines and other supports during the pandemic.
On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic, thrusting much of the world into a standstill as people and organizations – both within and outside healthcare – grappled with how to best protect their communities.
In the east end of Toronto, member organizations of East Toronto Health Partners (ETHP), the Ontario Health Team (OHT) serving East Toronto, quickly came together to devise an integrated, community-based strategy for minimizing the spread of COVID-19.
Our partners from hospital, primary care and community sectors worked together every step of the way during the pandemic, from ensuring easy access to personal protective equipment, testing and vaccines to helping individuals in self-isolation with food security, mental health and other supports.
In recognition of this incredible collaboration, we recently developed a video reflecting on our work during COVID-19 so far and thanking our partners and community for their dedication and support.
We invite you to watch the video below, which highlights our OHT’s efforts in protecting East Toronto during the pandemic.
We look forward to continuing our work together in our COVID-19 response and recovery.
