This role is a half-time commitment, for a period of one year, where CaroleLina will work with the health system partners and the broader Taylor-Massey community to align health resources and supports, specifically to optimize the services we are able to provide within this community. During this time, CaroleLina will also maintain her role as Manager, Organizational Quality and Safety at MGH on a half-time basis.

CaroleLina joined MGH in 2011 when she was hired into the Nursing Resource Team (NRT) under the new nurse graduate guarantee. Since that time, she has served as a frontline nurse in NRT, Surgery and the ICU. In 2015, she transitioned to a Nursing Practice Leader and, subsequently, a Clinical Resource Leader where she had the opportunity to mentor close to 100 new nurses at MGH, some of which are in MGH leadership positions today.

In 2018, she joined the Quality and Safety team as a Quality Specialist and was subsequently promoted in 2020 to Manager, Organizational Quality and Safety. In this role, CaroleLina ably supported the organization to achieve Exemplary Standing in the 2021 Accreditation cycle and navigated many patient safety and organizational priorities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

While at MGH, CaroleLina completed a Master of Science in Nursing from York University; a Master of Science in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety from the University of Toronto; a Certificate in Clinical Risk, Negligence and Claims Management in Health Care at York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School; and a Healthcare Leadership Certificate at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

CaroleLina has built deep connections with the community at MGH over her 10-plus years here. She is passionate about using her skills to improve patient care and supporting the communities we serve. We are thrilled that she will be able to do this in her shared role at MGH and at Health Access Taylor-Massey.

Sincerely,

Anne Wojtak, Lead, Integrated Care at ETHP

We are very excited to share that Raju Bains has rejoined MGH in the role of Director, Integrated Care for a period of one year. In this role, Raju will support a number of MGH-specific and ETHP priorities, including the use of future community surge funds. This helps ensure clinical services align with community need, enables the exploration of future health access models within East Toronto and allows MGH to continue to partner effectively with our community in meeting local health needs.

Raju’s role is a major enabler of the Community pillar of MGH’s Strategic Plan 2023-2025: Great care inspired by community, and will support a deeper integrated approach to care in East Toronto.

Raju rejoins MGH with a tremendous amount of experience leading a variety of health services and community-based initiatives. She is a registered social worker and holds a Master of Health Administration from the University of Toronto.

Raju has worked in various senior leadership roles in the local health sector. This includes positions with the Downtown East Toronto Ontario Health Team; the Master of Health Science in Health Administration Program at the University of Toronto’s Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation; and at South East Toronto Family Health Team, where she served as Executive Director. Raju has also served in clinical leadership roles at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and as a Board Member of LOFT Community Services and Across Boundaries.

Raju has a tremendous understanding of the health system and how stakeholders can work together toward a common vision. She is also incredibly skilled in building meaningful relationships and understanding the underlying causes of various health system challenges. We look forward to working alongside Raju to build a healthier community in East Toronto.

Sincerely,

Wolf Klassen, Vice President, Program Support at MGH
