We’re pleased to share that Melanie Kohn, President and CEO at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), has joined the Leadership Team for East Toronto Health Partners (ETHP), the Ontario Health Team (OHT) serving East Toronto, to represent the hospital and acute care sector.

Melanie stepped into the role of President and CEO at MGH on June 12. She is a talented, compassionate and dynamic health system leader with more than 20 years of progressive experience leading transformational projects benefiting patients, families and communities in Toronto and Ontario.

She comes to MGH from the Ontario Ministry of Health (MOH), where she served as Assistant Deputy Minister of Hospitals and Capital Division. She is highly regarded for her ability to develop meaningful and collaborative partnerships with colleagues and valued stakeholders across the health sector.

“East Toronto Health Partners is a trailblazer and leading the way in the integration of local health and social care services,” Melanie says. “It’s an incredibly exciting model that can be adopted across the province – and one I’m extremely proud to join and start contributing to.”

Melanie replaces Wolf Klassen, previously President and CEO, Interim at MGH, who represented the hospital and acute care sector on the ETHP Leadership Team from September 2022 to June 2023. Wolf is stepping back into his role of Vice President, Program Support at MGH.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Melanie to our Ontario Health Team’s leadership table, where we can continue our great collaboration and partnership with Michael Garron Hospital to better connect our community with local care and services,” says Anne Babcock, President and CEO at WoodGreen Community Services and Chair of the ETHP Leadership Team.

“We also thank Wolf for his contributions to the ETHP Leadership Team over the past nine months. We look forward to continuing our work with him and other partners across our OHT.”

Earlier this year, Cynthia Marinelli, CEO at Chester Village, and Robin Griller, Executive Director at St. Michael’s Homes, joined the ETHP Leadership Team to represent the long-term care home and mental health and substance use sectors, respectively, in East Toronto.
